Olivia Rodrigo just released a brand new song called The Cure, which will be part of her upcoming album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. The music video for The Cure shows Olivia searching for an antidote to heal her broken heart in a makeshift hospital.
Olivia shared the meaning behind The Cure on social media, saying it’s the core idea of her new album and it really made the whole record come together for her. She hopes her fans will enjoy it. In an interview with iHeartRadio, Olivia said The Cure is her favorite track on the album, describing it as the climax of the record.
Olivia explained that The Cure is about realizing that love isn’t the solution to all your problems, as you might have thought when you were younger. The song is her way of accepting that some things can’t be fixed by love. She sings about this in the chorus, expressing that even though someone might try to help, their love won’t be enough to cure her heartache.
Unfortunately for fans who don’t have tickets yet, Olivia’s tour is already sold out. However, they can still look forward to watching her perform The Cure and other new songs live later this year.
