Julianne Moore tribute was posted on Instagram on September 2, after the feminist leader Gloria Steinem died at age 92.

The actress shared a photo of herself, the late activist and director Julie Taymor on the set of The Glorias, writing, “We were so lucky.”

She continued, “The time I spent studying Gloria Steinem in order to play her was one of the most edifying of my life. Everything I watched, everything I read, everything I observed about her gave me a template for how I wanted to behave.”

She added, “Her honesty, her tolerance, her patience, and her insistence on humanism and inclusion as she moved through the world offers us all a moral roadmap. Thank you for all you gave us, Gloria ,” followed by a heartbreak emoji.

The 65‑year‑old Oscar winner portrayed Steinem in the 2020 biopic The Glorias. The film, directed by Julie Taymor, also featured Alicia Vikander, Lulu Wilson and Ryan Kiera Armstrong as younger versions of the activist.

Gloria Steinem was a key figure in the women’s movement, championing equality, reproductive rights and political participation throughout her career.

Her passing prompted a wave of remembrance from fans and fellow activists alike.
