Model Anastasia Kostenko and her husband, former footballer Dmitry Tarasov, recently faced a wave of online criticism after their young son Yaroslav was hospitalized with a rotavirus infection. Anastasia opened up about the situation, admitting it was her first time dealing with this kind of illness and that she found it difficult to care for her child properly during the ordeal.
While staying in the hospital, Anastasia posted a photo to her messaging app status — something she likely did to share her feelings or update her followers. But instead of receiving sympathy, she was met with harsh comments. Some users accused her of not taking proper care of her son and even blamed the parents for the child’s illness.
Anastasia didn’t stay silent. She responded by saying those remarks were unfair and only intended to make her feel guilty rather than offer support.
“What shocked me most was that while I was in the hospital, someone sent me a message saying, ‘It’s all because of his diet. Parents like you should be ashamed for giving him junk to drink,’” she shared.
Thankfully, Yaroslav’s condition has since improved. The little boy was hospitalized due to severe dehydration caused by the virus, and at one point, he was so weak that he couldn’t even wake up for blood tests. Thanks to timely medical help, his health has now stabilized, and he’s on the road to recovery.
This situation once again shows how quickly the internet can turn moments of vulnerability into public judgment — reminding us that sometimes, what people need most is compassion, not criticism.
