Elon Musk just suffered a big loss in court. He was suing OpenAI and its founder Sam Altman. Musk claimed that OpenAI had strayed from its original mission to help humanity. But the jury decided that Musk waited too long to take action, and his claims are no longer valid under California law.

Both sides have been accusing each other of caring more about money than the potential dangers of AI technology. Musk is not giving up, though – he plans to appeal the decision to the Ninth Circuit. He thinks the judge and jury made a mistake by focusing on a technicality rather than the main issue.

In a recent post, Musk wrote that Sam Altman and others involved with OpenAI enriched themselves by taking from a charity. He believes this sets a bad precedent and could hurt charitable giving in the US. Musk also mentioned that OpenAI was originally founded to benefit everyone, not just a few people.

This news comes after Alec Baldwin criticized Musk for his comments on the casting of a film based on The Odyssey.
