Brian Hickerson was taken into custody on Wednesday after a drunken altercation at a Los Angeles bar, TMZ reported.

According to witnesses, he and his brother spent several hours drinking before he hurled a chair onto the floor, prompting officers to intervene and detain both men.

When handcuffed, the former boyfriend accused the officers of leaking information about Hayden Panettiere’s death, a claim eyewitnesses described as unfounded.

He was released shortly thereafter, while his sibling was booked for disorderly conduct and taken to the precinct.

Less than a day before the actress was found unresponsive, reports say she was seen at LAX with Hickerson. The following morning, a 911 call reported a possible overdose and cardiac arrest; medics pronounced her dead at 2:32 p.m. at a local hospital.

The pair had an on‑and‑off relationship since 2018, and in May the man publicly admitted to domestic abuse, later serving a 45‑day jail sentence for the offense.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the actress’s death.
