Lately, it’s rare to hear an interview with Russian actors without mentioning Yura Borisov. In 99% of cases, they praise the Oscar nominee for his hard work and humble personality. However, a surprising exception came from Yulia Snigir, who, in an interview with Svetlana Bondarchuk’s YouTube show Sveta Vokrug Sveta, called Yura a “jerk” and a “little brat.” What happened, and did Nikita Kologrivy take over the mind of Russia’s most beautiful actress? Yulia revealed that while working on the adaptation of Bulgakov’s novel, her co-star could have been Yura Borisov instead of her husband, Evgeny Tsyganov. Yura also auditioned for the role of Master, but their brief interaction left a lasting impression on her for the wrong reason.
“We met at a film premiere the night before our auditions, and he said: ‘Tomorrow, we’re auditioning for Master and Margarita. I don’t get it – are the characters ageless or what?’ I looked at him and thought: ‘You little brat, are you really questioning my age?’ He meant that he was much younger than me.”

In response, Svetlana Bondarchuk noted that Yura, who is just 32 years old, always seemed older to her. Taking the chance to tease her colleague, 41-year-old Yulia laughed at the camera, saying: “Yura, you look older, just so you know.”
Additionally, in the same interview, Yulia Snigir criticized the movie Anora, the film that might earn Yura Borisov his first-ever Oscar. She expressed that Sean Baker’s film contained too many 18+ scenes, which, in her opinion, was excessive.
