While love is important, Jeff Bezos is also thinking about his wealth as he plans to marry Lauren Sánchez. Being the third richest person in the world, Bezos has reportedly hired a team of lawyers to make sure a prenup is signed before the big day.
But it’s not just Bezos who is concerned — it’s mainly his legal team. According to the Daily Mail, even though Jeff is ready to marry Lauren any day now, his attorneys are focused on getting the paperwork done first. The main goal of this prenuptial agreement is to protect all of Bezos’ assets that he owned before the marriage and make sure they stay as his separate property.
A family law expert, Alphonse Provinziano, told Hello! that this kind of agreement would clearly list all of Bezos’ business assets and property interests, stating that they remain under his name.
Since Bezos owns a massive amount of property and investments, creating a prenup takes time. Provinziano explained that these contracts often require months of work, including asset valuation, information disclosure, legal negotiation, and final drafting. He added that transparency and fairness are the most important parts of the process.
Considering that the wedding is expected to happen next month, it’s very likely that both Bezos and Sánchez have already said “Yes” and signed the important document.
