Amanda Hirsch apologized on September 6 after a betting‑platform ad that referenced the Lindsay Clancy trial sparked backlash.

The Not Skinny But Not Fat and Get Real podcast host had incorporated the high‑profile murder case into a Polymarket promotion, posting a reel that asked, “On Polymarket it was predicted the verdict would be Not Guilty. Are you surprised? #Polymarketpartner.”

Viewers called the post tone‑deaf, and the influencer quickly removed the video before issuing a written apology on Instagram.

She wrote, “Posting about the Lindsay Clancy trial in the same breath as a brand partnership was completely insensitive, wrong, and out of character for me — I should have known better, and I feel sick that I didn’t see that in the moment. As a mom, this case has really affected me. I’ve been following it so closely, talking about it constantly, and feeling heartbroken over every part of it. I became so consumed by the trial that I completely lost perspective and didn’t stop to think about how grossly inappropriate it was to discuss something this tragic in that context. I made a terrible judgement call and I feel so f***ing awful about that. I know deleting it doesn’t erase it. Believe me, I am horrified by the choice I made and please know this lapse in judgement does not represent who I am as a person. I am so deeply sorry.”

Earlier that week, the podcaster had shared a lengthy caption saying the trial had “consumed” her and sparked a needed conversation, adding that she was anxiously awaiting a verdict.

The judge later declared a mistrial, meaning the case remains open and a new hearing is expected, according to court filings.

The incident serves as a reminder that personal commentary can clash with commercial deals, and the influencer says she will be more cautious moving forward.
