Jennifer Garner is opening up about how Jennifer Garner‘s family was affected by paparazzi attention, revealing that her family was asked to stop attending one of her children’s soccer practices due to the swarm of photographers showing up.

The 54-year-old actress shared this story on Evan Ross Katz’s Netflix podcast Shut Up Evan, explaining that the soccer association asked them to stop attending because there were 20 cars arriving at each practice.

She recalled that the paparazzi’s behavior was not just about her family, but about the larger issue of the industry getting out of control, with photographers showing up at schools, medical appointments, and even blocking a pediatrician’s entrance.

The actress described the photographers’ behavior as ‘ludicrous’ and noted that it placed other children in danger, with photographers even knocking kids over outside preschool.

Jennifer acknowledged the privilege her career provided, but believes she received disproportionate attention because she was ‘the chick with the kids,’ and noted that the paparazzi would not follow her ex-husband Ben Affleck or other celebrities like Matt Damon.

Jennifer has been an advocate for protecting children from paparazzi, having previously testified in support of California’s Senate Bill 606, also known as the ‘paparazzi bill,’ which strengthened protections for children targeted because of their parents’ careers.
