What Robert Eggers Just Did

He’s at it again — no joke. Honestly, Robert Eggers is the king of visceral films, and we’re not surprised.

Inside the New Horror Movie

So, Werwulf is coming — December 25, to be exact, courtesy of Focus Features. It’s a wild ride: devotion, damnation, the devil within… all the good stuff. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, and Willem Dafoe are on board — and that’s a dream team right there. But what makes Werwulf stand out — it’s not your typical werewolf flick. No clichés, no boring plot twists. Robert Eggers wanted to shake things up, to go back to the roots of the mythology. He told Esquire all about it. And, honestly, that’s what makes Werwulf so darn interesting. It’s all about mystery — and suspense. The slow-burn, uncomfortable vibes that lead us into darkness. That’s Robert Eggers‘ thing — creating an atmosphere that’s just… unsettling. Yet, we can’t look away. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp were attached to the project last year — their second collab after Nosferatu. But, real talk, Werwulf is going to be huge. Fans are already obsessed. The first look dropped — and it’s pretty much what we expected from Robert Eggers. How does he keep doing this? That’s the question on everyone’s mind. Gotta say, we’re lowkey excited — the thing is, Robert Eggers is a master of his craft, and Werwulf is just the beginning.

And, somehow, Aaron Taylor-Johnson‘s new movie Fuze slipped under the radar — released in April, but let’s be real, Werwulf is what we’re all waiting for.
