Meet Swapmeet
Swapmeet’s everywhere — SXSW, dusty alleyways… they’re a band that’s kinda hard to miss. Venus O’Broin, Josh Doherty, Jack Medlyn, and Maxwell Elphick are the names behind the chaos — and it’s not like they’re trying too hard, it’s just who they’re.
They played 13 shows in five days — that’s insane. And, honestly, it’s about time someone like them came along — real talk, the music scene needed a shake-up.
The Sound That’s Catching On
So what makes them different? Their sound’s all over the place — in a good way — it’s like they’re assembling songs in real time, and yet… it works. You might’ve stumbled upon them on Spotify — or maybe not.
But let’s be real — their energy’s infectious. It often feels like they’re on the verge of collapse, and then they pull it all back together — somehow. That’s what makes them so compelling, they’re not afraid to take risks. And, if you ask me, that’s what it’s all about — the risk, the uncertainty… what’s the point of playing it safe, right? They’re not afraid to get a little weird, to push the limits — and that’s what makes their music so exciting. But, can they keep it up — that’s the question. The thing is, they’re not prone to exhaustion, they never waste an opportunity — it’s like they’re always on the go. And, somehow, it works — they’re like a whirlwind of sound and energy, with band members swapping instruments and bouncing across the stage. It’s kinda like they’re making it all up as they go along — no joke, their live shows are something else.
They’re not just a band, they’re an experience — and, honestly, it’s exhilarating. Yet, it’s also kinda terrifying — in a good way.
