Rachel Reid is working on a new book called Unrivaled, which is part of her Game Changers series. This comes after her previous book, Heated Rivalry. In Unrivaled, she’s focusing on the characters Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander again, after The Long Game in 2022.
Recently, Rachel Reid took part in a Spotify fireside chat and shared some details about Unrivaled, which is set to be released on June 1, 2027. She mentioned that the story picks up where The Long Game left off, so there won’t be any gaps. It’s set in 2021, and Ilya and Shane are playing on the same team, which is new for them.
Rachel said Unrivaled is about a new kind of year in Shane and Ilya‘s lives, one that’s not going to be totally smooth. They’ll be together a lot more, and there will be some backlash because not everyone is okay with two hockey players being married to each other on the same team.
Rachel Reid thinks it’ll be fun to see Shane and Ilya get a lot of support, but also face some Challenges. She doesn’t want to put them through too much, though – they’ve already been through enough. By the way, Jacob Tierney, the creator of Heated Rivalry, also talked about the show’s second season, which is expected to start filming later this summer.
