Singer Lusia Chebotina has finally cleared the air about her conflict with a magician who took her to court. Speaking on the show “By the Way”, she explained that on the day of her solo concert, the illusionist ran into major technical problems. Despite completing only part of the work, he later demanded the full payment stated in the contract.
Lusia says the whole situation turned almost impossible to believe:
“He got part of the payment, and after the concert he started insisting on the rest. In the end, the court ruled that I didn’t owe him anything, because none of his claims were confirmed. And yes — they even watched my concert in court,” she shared.
The legal dispute actually came to an end back in August. After reviewing the evidence, the court confirmed that only a portion of the magician’s services were performed: he developed several illusions, handled the equipment setup, and completed two acts. The advance he received fully matched the value of the work he actually delivered.
As for who caused the failed rehearsals and the incomplete performances, the available evidence wasn’t enough to determine responsibility. The final ruling stated that both parties received services proportional to their payments, and all financial claims were considered settled.
