Valeria Lebedova is a lifestyle blogger and content creator based in Saint Petersburg – Russia. She shares outfit ideas, makeup secrets, beauty tips and everyday life videos and through them she inspires girls to dress beautifully every day and to feel feminine and confident. In a conversation with Anti Radio, Valeria talked about how her journey began, her love for languages and her philosophy of life.
From Astrakhan to the big city
Valeria is originally from Astrakhan. At 17 – she moved to Saint Petersburg completely on her own. For her, moving to such a big city was a chance to see how much bigger and more exciting life could be. Saint Petersburg taught her to set bigger goals and, most importantly, to believe she could actually achieve them. The city changed the way she sees herself, her lifestyle and the future she wants to build.
Valeria is most proud of two things. She moved to a big city alone at 17, and she ran her own business independently at 19.
From fun to inspiration: how the blog was born
Valeria has been taking photos and making videos for Instagram for years. For a long time, though, she did it just for fun, without any particular purpose. About two years ago, she realized how much she enjoys inspiring other girls to dress beautifully, feel feminine and be bright and expressive every day. That was when she started taking her content seriously.
Today in her own words, her blog is simply a reflection of who she is and what she loves. Valeria shares outfits, lifestyle and talking videos, makeup secrets, beauty tips, and small life hacks for feeling more feminine, confident and comfortable in your own skin. She also goes live on TikTok, where she loves talking to her audience and getting to know the people who follow her.
An offer from London
About six months ago, a major dress brand from London approached Valeria about a collaboration. It was an unexpected and exciting moment for her, because it showed her that her content had reached an international audience. Unfortunately, circumstances beyond anyone’s control prevented the delivery, so the collaboration could not go ahead. Even so, being discovered by a London brand was very meaningful and encouraging for Valeria.
Languages as a door to the world
Languages have been one of Valeria’s greatest passions throughout her life. She speaks English and is learning German and Spanish. She studies German at university. She didn’t choose it herself, but she doesn’t believe any language is “useless.” In her view, every language gives you a new way to see the world.
She has been teaching herself Spanish at home for the past few months. She can already understand songs and videos and hold basic conversations. Valeria says her passion comes from life itself. Languages give her the chance to become a better version of herself, discover the world and connect with people from different cultures.
Living in the moment
Valeria believes her greatest strength is her ability to live in the present. She doesn’t like saving things for “someday.” She wears her new clothes right away, dresses up every day, treats herself to little things and lets herself enjoy life as it happens. For her, femininity is about enjoying yourself, expressing who you are and creating a life that genuinely makes you happy.
Valeria behind the screen
According to Valeria she is the same person offline as she is online. She doesn’t create a character for her content; she simply shares who she is. In her free time, she loves walking in parks, going to nice places and restaurants, exploring the city and enjoying everyday life. She calls herself a simple person in that sense. Beautiful surroundings, good conversations and making ordinary days feel special are all she needs.
People who see her from the outside often think she is very kind and a little naive. Valeria is a soft and caring person. Still, many people make the mistake of thinking her kindness means they can take advantage of her. She values honesty and loyalty and does not tolerate betrayal or people trying to exploit her kindness.
What does success mean?
For Valeria success means being in the right place in life and being happy. It also means being grateful for what you already have while continuing to grow and achieve more.
And the secret behind her beauty? Valeria laughs and gives the credit to her parents. She says it comes from good genetics, an upbringing that taught her to always take care of herself and look her best, and, most importantly, all the love they gave her growing up.
