Last year, the artist from New Jersey known for her genre-defying style, 070 Shake, unveiled her album “You Can’t Kill Me.” In the current year, Shake made her presence felt on RAYE’s chart-topping UK pop hit “Escapism” and featured on Christine And The Queens’ track “True Love.” Her distinctive voice was also sampled on Fred again..’s energetic tune “Danielle (Smile On My Face).” Presently, Shake is on a tour across American stadiums as the opening act for Coldplay. She is actively working on another new album and has just released its inaugural single.

The fresh 070 Shake track, titled “Black Dress,” is nothing short of a powerhouse. Shake collaborated on this song with her longtime partner Dave Hamelin and Johan Lenox, a producer well-acclaimed for his work with Metro Boomin. “Black Dress” has been a staple in Shake’s live performances throughout the year. It possesses an eerie, ethereal quality with powerful, swirling guitars, hazy synths, and trap 808s – a fusion reminiscent of what might occur if the Deftones attempted to create a Future-style track, or vice versa. The music video for the song, directed by Noah Lee, commences with Shake ensnared in a tree, suspended from her parachute, amidst the wreckage of a crashed plane scattered around her. The visual journey then takes on psychedelic dimensions.
