The story of Yekaterina Zolotovskaya, the girlfriend of popular Russian rapper Niletto, sounds like something straight out of a thriller movie. What was meant to be a dream trip through Europe suddenly turned into a nightmare in sunny Barcelona.
It all started with what seemed like an ordinary mishap. A group of clever thieves used an old trick — they spilled a smelly liquid on Yekaterina, pretending it was bird droppings. While she panicked and tried to clean it off, a “friendly stranger” came to help. But he wasn’t kind at all — he was part of the plan. While she was distracted, another man grabbed her bag and jumped into a waiting car.
Inside the stolen bag were all her important belongings: her passport, travel money, and a camera full of memories. Reporting the crime to the police didn’t help. At the station, she saw many other tourists who had suffered the same fate. “One man was crying — they took his passport too,” Yekaterina shared.
When Niletto heard about the incident, he started supporting her from afar as best he could. This event deeply affected Yekaterina, and she decided to give some important safety tips for other travelers:
-
Always keep documents in the hotel safe
-
Carry your bag in front of you
-
And if possible, don’t travel alone
Luckily, her Russian passport wasn’t in the stolen bag, which made it easier to get a temporary replacement. But the rest of her holiday was ruined — she was constantly afraid and couldn’t relax. “The first thing I said after the robbery was: ‘Thank you for only taking my money, stuff, and passport,’” she said, showing amazing strength and calmness.
This shocking story is a strong reminder for all travelers: Even in popular tourist spots, you must stay alert and careful. Sometimes, danger hides in plain sight.
