Beabadoobee – real name Beatrice Laus, believes that imperfection is what makes music authentic and relatable. The 24-year-old singer likens the flaws in music to natural beauty, emphasizing that “missteps” in songs reflect real life and resonate with listeners. She shared with Cosmopolitan that songwriting for her doesn’t always follow conventional rules, but that’s what makes it special.
The ‘Way Things Go’ singer also revealed that creating music helps her connect with her inner child, describing it as the “purest form of art and emotion.” Reflecting on her debut album Fake It Flowers (2020), Beabadoobee admitted she initially found it cringeworthy but now appreciates it as a formative part of her journey, embracing her teenage self and the lessons learned.
