Julie Chen Moonves told viewers on Thursday’s 1,000th episode of Big Brother that the live feeds would be temporarily shut down and would return on Saturday.

The announcement came during the show’s 1,000th‑episode celebration on Aug. 27.

The host explained, “From our 1,000th episode to the year 1,000, the houseguests are about to face a twist unlike any in the history of this game,” and added, “This unprecedented twist will challenge the houseguests socially and competitively.”

She also said, “There will be no Head of Household, no Veto competition, no Block Buster,” and warned, “But, when all is said and done, someone’s game will come to an end before the next live eviction.”

Because of the twist, she told fans, “Because of this week’s twist, the live feeds will be down for the next three days,” then urged, “So, put your screens away, go outside, smell the flowers. The feeds will return after Sunday’s show.”

The official Big Brother Twitter account later posted, “we hath done it! one more hour until feeds return. let the countdown commence!”

According to the network, the live feeds resumed on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and can be watched on Paramount+ or Pluto TV, offering four camera angles plus a multi‑view option.

The next episode airs on Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. ET, where viewers can see which houseguest was evicted.
