So, what happened? He showed up at the 2026 Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner and Auction in New York City on May 19, 2026 — and it was a big deal. Lowkey, it’s still sinking in — he sat with Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz, took some amazing photos together, along with Chance the Rapper. And, honestly, it’s pretty cool. But, the thing is — it’s also bittersweet, ’cause it’s one of the last times we got to see him in action. No joke, this guy was a legend — he discovered Alicia Keys, released her debut album Songs in A Minor through J Records in 2001, and that’s pretty much how he changed the music game.
