The album marks a return to his stadium-filling pop style, with Sheeran describing it as “big pop” music.

Unlike his previous albums Equals, released during the pandemic, and Subtract, a more intimate record, this new project embraces a grander sound. Sheeran also revealed that Richard Curtis directed the music video for his Christmas song Under the Tree, featured in Netflix’s That Christmas.

Sheeran called the experience special and shared that filming took place near his home.
