Recently, at the Russian Championship in figure skating jumps in St. Petersburg, Alexandra Trusova, the Russian “rocket,” appeared to support her husband, Makary Ignatov. The couple tied the knot last summer.

Although Alexandra wore loose clothing, it was hard not to notice her rounded belly, confirming the long-standing rumors about an expected addition to their family.

Lately, Alexandra has stopped traveling for tours and ice shows, and when she does skate, she avoids performing her signature jumps. The couple has yet to comment publicly on the upcoming addition to their family.

Tatiana Tarasova, the famous coach, spoke on their behalf, confirming the news.

“Her career has ended, and now she plans to have a baby. That’s it. Do I think Trusova will return to sports later? Honestly, I don’t think she will ever return,” Tarasova stated, giving her firm opinion on the future of the athlete.

Interestingly, before the wedding, Alexandra and Makary had already been thinking about expanding their family. They both desired a large family with three children, or at least two. The only disagreement was about the gender of their first child. While Alexandra wanted a girl, Makary preferred a boy.

“A girl is really scary! Just think about it, she will grow up, and it’s terrifying. How could I trust someone else with her?” Makary had worried beforehand.

“Having a girl is awesome!” Alexandra had disagreed with him, giving a thumbs up during one of their shows.
